ONLINE LECTURES PROJECT by the Young Scientists Council, №53

📌 Topic: ‘Conspicuous Identity’ and the Vicious Cycle of Conflict

📆 Date: May 30, 2026. 17:30 (Eastern European Time)

📣 Speaker: Allen David Simon,
Postgraduate Researcher and Academic Projects Coordinator, Department of Academics, International Association of Political Science Students

📒 «’Conspicuous Identity’ and the Vicious Cycle of Conflict» studies the underlying role of identity in sustaining conflicts and how invisible encampments occur in post-conflict societies, hindering inclusive development and integration. Using Indian case studies, conflict is viewed through Fukuyaman’s theoretical framework for contemporary identity politics. The lecture is an outcome of two hypothesis generating studies, published by the lecturer, and an ongoing work related to the theme.
